NSDOAF Farmer of the Year Award

Honoring America’s Farmers of All Walks of Life

The National Society Descendants of American Farmers (NSDOAF) proudly recognizes the dedication, innovation, and perseverance of those who continue America’s agricultural legacy. The Farmer of the Year Award celebrates individuals who embody the spirit of hard work, stewardship, and community that has defined farming since our nation’s founding.

About the Award

Although every farmer deserves recognition for their vital role in sustaining our nation, NSDOAF selects one outstanding farmer each year whose work exemplifies excellence in agriculture and service to their community. This award honors farmers of all backgrounds and walks of life — those who cultivate the land, preserve its heritage, and contribute to the strength and sustainability of American farming.

Nomination Process

Anyone — NSDOAF members or the public — may submit a nomination using our online nomination form, below.

  • Opening Date: August 15 each year

  • Deadline: November 15 at 12:00 midnight

All submissions are reviewed by the NSDOAF Farmer of the Year Committee. The committee evaluates each nominee’s contributions to agriculture, leadership within their community, and commitment to preserving farming traditions. One recipient is selected annually and honored as the NSDOAF Farmer of the Year.
